Broadcasting from Sirius at
4.8 degrees East Viasat
is easy to receive in Northern Europe, but with a slightly
larger dish being necessary for the Eastern side of UK (circa 130 -
150cm is reported in trade forums), intended for
scandinavian countries it beams the live sports and footy out on
Astra4A at 4.8 degrees East. With dual language support viasat is a
good choice for expats.
The official footprints are
shown on this page, dish sizes outside the satellite footprint will
vary, UK is on the fringe of the beam and the sidelobes drop off very
sharply as you go West, and you may
struggle on West Coast UK with 150-180cm, Ireland for example is
virtually impossible the reception is too unstable and we have no data
of larger dish sizes being used with success.
Note: We can now offer Viasat subscription satellite viewing cards for
sale. Please find them in our store or under the viasat sports menu bar
to the left.

for
VIASAT reception.

Viasat subscription sports and other television from viasat requires a
dedicated receiver, the main selling point is the coverage of the
English Premiere League, at this time the cards are expensive and we do
not provide them.
